Blog Meet @ Pure Yoga

A few days ago, I attended a blog meet at Pure Yoga!

I was invited to #BlogMeetSg for the first time, and it was held at Pure Yoga! I had such a good time catching up with fellow bloggers as well as a good yoga session where we were stretched and pushed to our limits!

Pure Yoga at Ngee Ann City is such a beautiful place!! Located at Ngee Ann City (391 Orchard Road), it's at Tower 1 level 18. Access from elevators available in the lobby marked Tower 1.

Their changing areas are so beautifully furnishes with many available free lockers and towels, as well as body lotions, hair dryers and such for you to freshen up after your yoga session!

It was my pleasure to meet the beautiful Lucy, the founder of #BlogMeetSg!

Anyhow handstand! Hahaha.

The food bloggers Hazel, Hannah and Shermaine!

Also met Rachael and her friend Jovial

Blogger Caren!

There are many different types of yoga, the one that we did for #BlogMeetSG is the Jivamukti yoga that also uses aromatherapy to help us relax. Pure Yoga is the only yoga studio in Singapore that teaches this Jivamukti yoga and there are only a limited number of these classes held on the island per week.

“Jiva” – individual soul; “Mukti” – liberation. The word Jivamukti is derived from the Sanskrit word Jivanmuktih (“liberation while living”). Based on the lineage of Ashtanga, it is a yoga method founded and established by David Life & Sharon Gannon.

Pure Yoga Instructor, Kristin Khor took us on a physical and stimulating journey to inspire greater peace, unity, environmental awareness & karma consciousness through the practice of the Jivamukti yoga class.

Ahimsa, one of the five tenets of Jivamukti, encourages all to avoid harm and violence; it ultimately manifests the sacred notion of oneness in all beings. A Jivamukti yoga class is a physically vigorous and intellectually stimulating practice that combines chanting, asanas, breathing exercises, music, meditation and devotional study through simple scriptural readings.

This luxurious exfoliant is made up of rosemary and almond shells, and is a great 2-in-1 product! After exfoliation, simply brush off the almond shells instead of washing them and voila! Harness the power of 12 potent antioxidants including - Pure Organic Aloe Vera, Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil, Borage Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Carrot Oil, Vitamin E, Wheat Germ, Hyssop, Rose and Neroli. Most use it as a night treatment and wake up to radiant skin in the morning!

Daily Repair Oil
Highly concentrated to enrich and repair your skin at the cellular level. For best results and absorption, use daily after showering whilst your body is still damp. This is also a great massage oil for everyone, especially for the little tots to help them sleep better!

Face & Body Milk
A light, non- greasy moisturizer that leaves your skin soft, smooth and refreshed without a surface residue. This versatile moisturizer also doubles as a makeup primer and a light makeup remover!

Young Living Essential Oil

It is not surprising that the plant kingdom continues to be the subject of an enormous amount of research and discovery. A high percentage of prescription drugs are based on naturally occurring compounds from plants. For example, methyl salicylate, the principal constituent of wintergreen essential oil, has been incorporated into numerous linaments and ointments for muskoskeletal problems. It is also the main component of aspirin.

Essential oils and plant extracts have been woven into history since the beginning of time. They have been used traditionally to kill bacteria, fungi, and viruses and to combat insect and bug bites in addition to treating all kinds of illnesses and injuries.

Here we have the peppermint oil! It's so so refreshing and very good to use because a sniff instantly snaps all my senses awake!

As it is, there are so many uses of peppermint oil as well!
- Rub on temples to relieve headache
- Place one drop in hot water to make peppermint tea to help indigestion & soothe the tummy.
- Inhale when feeling dizzy or nauseous
- Apply on the bottom of the feet to reduce fever
- Apply on location for muscular aches and pain
- Diffuse peppermint to improve focus and concentration
- Place one drop in hot water and inhale to relieve sinus & headache

Free classes are also conducted on how to use these Young Living essential oils! The theme changes every month as classes on different topics are held. If you are interested, please email Nana from Young Living at nana1im@yahoo.com.sg or call her at 8100 6777 to register/enquire.
