Treasure Bay Bintan, the integrated waterfront development located an hour away from Singapore, continues to delight visitors with a new line-up of free family-activities and water attractions. The new additions add plenty of outdoor fun and thrills for visitors, especially those planning a weekend getaway during the upcoming school holidays.

Here's me enjoying a thrilling ride flying on water on the Jetovator! Journey with me through my fun times and see the exciting offers that Treasure Bay Bintan has to share!

To ring in the year-end holiday season, Treasure Bay Bintan has expanded its dining and accommodation offerings, set against breath-taking views of the region’s largest manmade saltwater lagoon (equivalent to 50 Olympic-size pools). It’s eco-friendly technology also uses approximately 100 times less chemicals than conventional swimming pools.

Treasure Bay is a 338-hectare waterfront resort city located on the Indonesian island of Bintan. The destination resort integrates wellness, leisure, cultural, residential and commercial concepts. The 20-year master plan will be developed in three phases and will offer many first-in-Asia concepts to create new travel and leisure experiences for visitors, and amazing investment opportunities for investors.

Parts of Phase one development were launched officially in September 2015 includes the 40-tent Canopi resort, The Patio Bar and Restaurant and Chill Cove, an entertainment-centric mixed development featuring international and boutique hotel brands such as Mercure, Ibis Budget, bars and restaurants, surrounding the 6.3-hectare Crystal Lagoon – the largest man made salt water lagoon in South East Asia.

The Canopi Resort combines the best of camping in nature and the luxury of a hotel room to provide guests with the ultimate glamping experience at Treasure Bay Bintan. The exterior of the tents featured a really huge and cool tent while the interior boosts everything from basic necessities like lights and sofa, to air-conditioner and a clean bathroom.

The resort comprises 18 safari-tens, 11 lagoon access tents and 11 Jacuzzi tents to cater to a variety of guests and their needs. The lagoon access tents provide guests with spectacular views of the 6.3-hectare saltwater Crystal Lagoon, while Jacuzzi tents are equipped with a private outdoor Jacuzzi. The resort occupies an area of two hectares and is within walking distance to attractions such as Treasure Bay Bintan’s nature reserve, private mangrove river, Crystal Lagoon and the ocean.

All tents are fully air-conditioned, feature more than 400 square feet of spacious accommodation, and come with a private garden and patio. It was a very beautiful place! I was amazed when I stepped in. It was very spacious and clean with a grand four-poster bed with white sheets. I had a good night’s sleep in the huge comfortable bed!

The toilet sports an outdoor concept which blended in really well with the whole glamping experience. It’ll be good to know that there are electrical sockets all around the tent so you don’t have to worry about not having enough battery for your devices.

Guests can participate in a host of activities – right at the Canopi Resort’s doorstep.
- Nature Walk: Enjoy hikes around Treasure Bay Bintan’s nature reserve, designed by one of Asia’s top naturalist and conservationist, Mr Irshad Mobarak.
- Off-Roads: Explore and engage with nature on ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles), Motorcross scramblers, Segways, Electric Mini bikes or bicycles.

I never liked water sports because I thought that it was too troublesome and I wouldn’t be able to get the hang of it. However, after this trip I realised that it’s really as fun as it looks and definitely worth a try! The guides were all so friendly and helpful, they will make sure you can really have fun in whichever water sport you choose to try.

Jetovator: One of the most exciting aerial water activities, the Jetovator is a water sports accessory that redirects water thrust to propel and elevate riders into mid-air.
Inflatable Water Park: Spanning an area of 40 by 30 metres, the structure holds up to 40 people at one time and serves as an obstacle course for sporting events, corporate team buildings or just a place for everyone, including kids, to hang out, and soak up the sun.
Stand up paddle: Stand up paddling is a safe water activity suitable for families of all ages. Each board can hold two people at one time.
Water ZOVB: Experience the excitement of walking on water in an inflatable clear ball, an activity that is quickly gaining popularity in Asia.
Inflatable Kayaks: The AdvanceFrame® kayak is a hybrid of folding frame and inflatable kayaks, which seats a maximum of two people.
Aquaglide Sailboat: The Aquaglide Multi-Sport 270s inflatable sailboat converts easily from a windsurfer to a kayak and towable within minutes and is able to seat up to three people comfortably.
Water Tricycle: Great for children and adults, the water tricycle is the perfect water activity for families to explore the entire Crystal Lagoon leisurely.
Sea Scooter: Experience the thrill of surfing large waves in the Crystal Lagoon with the electric jet propelled body board that allows riders to easily manoeuvre and propel through the water.

Dinner was this beautiful setting on top of a hill, with fresh food barbecued by the chefs for us. we enjoyed the good food and the night view overlooking the Crystal Lagoon.

All in all, it was definitely a fun-filled trip.  The food served at The Patio was also fresh and delicious. Glamping in style at The Canopi is really a must-try experience, where you'll get the ultimate glamping experience with the combination of camping in nature and the luxury of a hotel room! Opening up your tent door, you’ll be treated to a lovely view of the greener and the Crystal Lagoon. It’s best for a weekend getaway with your significant other or your family. If you’re planning for a birthday treat for a loved one, Treasure Bay Bintan will not disappoint!
