Dream Cruise Line's Genting Dream New Itineraries

Building on the success and overwhelming response of the “Island Escapade” to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), Penang and Phuket, Dream Cruises has announced that Genting Dream will continue her Singapore homeport deployment with a delightful “Summer Island Idyll” itinerary, featuring new ports of call to Pulau Redang in Malaysia, Sihanoukville in Cambodia, as well as Koh Samui and Bangkok (Laem Chabang) in Thailand for Summer 2018!

The dazzling grandeur of Genting Dream at night really took my breath away! A band plays music over the the pool and injects such liveliness into the night; and the pretty lights make for a beautiful sight. With so many new itineraries, it's definitely the place to go for a short getaway!

From 1 April to 2 November, Genting Dream will offer two alternating 5-night Summer Island Idyll itineraries, starting with an exhilarating journey that spans three countries - Pulau Redang in Malaysia, Sihanoukville in Cambodia and Bangkok in Thailand, followed by a mid-summer cruise to Pulau Redang in Malaysia, Koh Samui and Bangkok in Thailand from 24 June onwards.

Guests will also have various options for an inspirational staycation at sea, including the 5-night Treasures of Indonesia cruise, the 3- night cruise to Phuket, the 2-night cruise to Kuala Lumpur, or the popular Singapore Weekend Getaway, which departs every Friday.

We stayed in the Balcony Stateroom (more than 70% of the cabins are balcony staterooms) and it provided such a lovely view of the sea from the balcony! The room was pretty big for a cruise standard and I would say even luxurious because look at the amount of space we had, big enough for a long sofa and and a huge dressing table. Our luggage was also carelessly strewn across the floor because, lots of space!

Beside the lovely view of the sea, you'll also get super nice views of the sunset and of course, nice photos too from your own private balcony. It's actually really good to dry off your swimwear under the hot afternoon sun, or even get a tan if you don't want to head up to the pool deck.

There are SOOOO MANY activities you can do onboard this Genting Dream cruise that you'll probably don't even want to disembark! Here are the many lines of slot machines that operate on international waters, alongside the casino.

Grossing an approximate 150,695 tons with up to 18 decks, the ship includes more than 9 restaurants and cafes, several bar options (including the first Johnnie Walker House at sea), as well as a multitude of fun-filled recreational options for all ages, including popular nightspot Zouk, Beach Club. This is the place to be for your next holiday!

Guests on board Genting Dream can also enjoy a wide variety of amenities on this veritable floating resort, such as the largest spa complex at sea, a waterslide park, an outdoor zip line located 18 decks above the water, as well as over 35 restaurant and bar concepts to whet any appetite.

Taking a dip in the warm jacuzzi onboard Genting Dream. The facilities onboard are really new, and very nice pool shots can be taken! Speaking of photos, you'll want to share them too right? Don't worry for the wifi onboard is not exorbitant. For just SGD$19 per night, you'll get the standard wifi package of unlimited data to connect up to 2 devices. There is also a Dream Cruise app which you can download for free, and can be used onboard to check daily highlights and activities.

Live bands play every night at different intervals and you'll be able to enjoy classic oldies and even put up request for songs. Take a leisure stroll onboard the different decks of the cruise and you'll find many places for you to explore, and duty-free stores to shop at! There will be movie screenings at different times of the day too, and on my last night onboard I caught the lastest movie in the Fast & Furious franchise.

This was taken at Umi Uma Teppanyaki, an exclusive restaurant (i.e. not included in the complimentary cruise meal) and the food was SO GOOD! We tried the chicken and beef, and it was cooked to perfection. There was also a variety of sauces to dip our meat in which we really enjoyed. The meal also came with yummy miso soup which we requested for second servings.

For complimentary dining at inclusive restaurants, there are a few options for you to choose from at every dining hour. At The Lido, the buffet venue features a variety of offerings available throughout the day. Breakfast highlights include made-to-order omelettes, waffles and pancakes, and a custom-serve congee station. Lunch and dinner choices include made-to-order pastas, freshly baked pizzas, and a variety of roast meats from the carving stations. For those with a sweet tooth, choose from a tempting array of sumptuous desserts, including sugar free options. At outdoor, The Lido serves up sandwiches, hot dogs and other grilled snacks throughout the day.

If you're prone to late night hunger pangs like I do, you'll be glad to find that there's a 24-hour restaurant, Blue Lagoon. This popular Asian and international food court is the perfect place for guests to enjoy a quick meal. Guests are entertained by chefs in front of live cooking stations. Enjoy your favourite beverage or a selection of desserts in between games of mahjong.

A series of enrichment programs will be hosted on board throughout the summer including Songkran parties in April, where guests can enjoy traditional water fights in celebration of the Thai New Year; organic beauty seminars with the hottest beauty bloggers in Singapore; as well as STR’EAT” at Sea, a foodie extravaganza featuring all the best Asian street cuisine.

For the little ones, the Little Dreamers Program, Dream Cruises’ kids-exclusive signature program, offers year-round activities and workshops for children aged 2-12. In addition to Little Dreamers’ standard activities such as the Faber-Castell Creative Arts & Crafts workshops, etiquette lessons and art jams, this summer kids will also have the chance to let their dreams soar all the way to outer space with the one and only “Astronaut Camp at Sea”, hosted by Dr. Leroy Chiao, a former NASA astronaut and the first Asian-American commander of the International Space Station; or learn to swim like a mermaid with Mermaid Kat, professional mermaid from Germany and founder of the world’s first mermaid training school.
