Hello there! It's been a pretty long while, I know. Life has been hectic and with the COVID-19 pandemic, not easy. Please find me on Instagram where I update a lot more frequently!
Anyway, today I'm here to share a special announcement! After 3.5 years of marriage, we finally conceived! To be honest I don't think we are completely ready for our lives to change forever and to uphold such a big responsibility, but then again, I don't think anyone is ever super ready to be a parent? Hahaha.
When we first found out, we were a mix of emotions. We did not exactly PLAN to have a baby, we were still happy in our own world, with the mentality if we get it then great, if not it's also good, no stress! Hahaha. Yes we are not THAT young anymore, but are we really ready to handle a baby?! Well, we will definitely try our best! Our baby boy will be due in June and we are super excited (and nervous) parents!
I feel a lot of wonder because, my body is creating a baby and I'm going to be a mother! OMG! What an amazing and life-changing (and body-changing) journey. I'm currently in my second trimester close to 6 months, and my tummy is growing bigger exponentially everyday. I'm feeling the stretch everyday; it doesn't hurt but it sure is uncomfortable, and it's going to grow so much bigger in the next few months yikes! Really not looking forward to it as well as the sleep deprivation after, but as long as my baby boy is growing well and healthy, all will be worth it.
I've also been trying to gain weight the past few years to no avail; I was underweight and having a weak stomach not absorbing nutrients from my food meant that it was very difficult for me to gain weight without stuffing myself too much. Thus initially I was afraid I wouldn't be able to gain enough weight during my pregnancy, but I'm lucky that worry was unfounded! I've currently gained about 6.5kg as of today, at 23 weeks.
Anyway, above all the uncertainties and nervousness, seeing my little baby on the ultrasound scans and feeling him move inside me is indeed a special feeling. I believe ultimately we are still really excited for this new arrival! I hope that we can be decent parents together. :)
