The World's Loudest Fun Run

An infectious and energetic blend of music filled the atmosphere at Sentosa as over 10,000 participants, aka Music Runners™ ran, dance and partied to the world’s loudest fun run - The Music Run™ by AIA. The sell-out event, which saw tickets sold out one week earlier, held in Singapore for the second year, puts music at its core to deliver a unique, immersive experience that has seen The Music Run™ grow globally in just three years since it was first launched in Kuala Lumpur in 2014.

Ken and I had to chance to participate in the run and we really enjoyed ourselves!

A phenomenal and futuristic run, The Music Run™ by AIA is one of the fastest-growing fun runs worldwide and is slated to hit 40 cities in 18 countries this year and experienced by over 350,000 Music Runners™ the world over. Offering a unique total music immersion experience, the concept has been making waves in Asia, including a sold out event in Kuala Lumpur last year.

Starting from 3.30PM this afternoon, Music Runners™ from as young as 3 months old to over 83 years old, grooved to the rousing beats of top-voted songs like “Demons” by Imagine Dragons and “How Deep Is Your Love” by Calvin Harris & Disciples in the AIA Rock Zone and W Dance Zone respectively, voted via a bespoke online music app developed in partnership with Spotify®.

The 5km route, which comprised five 1km Music Zones, was lined with over 120 concert quality speakers pumping 150,000 watts of music the entire way. Stacked with endless music-inspired entertainment, Music Runners™ chilled out at the mobile WOOBAR by W Singapore Sentosa Cove and were entertained with games of Giant Jenga, an AIA Vitality Extreme Keyboard (which plays tunes when stepped on), interactive AIA Giffy Wall.

Fitness First led the warm-up before the flag-off. In each Music Zone along the 5km route, Music Runners™ were treated to special interactive activities: from epic photo moments with Harley Davidson bikers in the AIA Rock Zone; giant candy pops and bubble machines at the Pop Zone; pop star doppelgangers and lookalikes in Old School Zone; giant Graffiti wall in at the AIA Hip Hop Zone; to killer selfie and wefie moments in the W Dance Zone. This year’s event also featured a Silent Disco, and a giant inflatable Super Slide situated in the Music Village which provided some good old carnival fun with a jump and slide combo!

The fun continues after the run at the Music Festival, as popular local band The Sam Willows belted out their hit songs and rising Australian DJ Sam Withers kept the party mood high with pulsating mix of feel-good songs and upbeat tracks. Ms Ho Lee Yen, Chief Marketing Officer of AIA Singapore, said, “The Music Run™ by AIA underscores AIA Singapore’s commitment to healthy living by encouraging our community to take active steps to leading healthier, happier and better lives. As the Presenting Sponsor of The Music Run™ for the second time in Singapore, we are pleased that the event continued to be a phenomenal success. Its unique concept of combining music, lifestyle, creativity and fitness in one event had ignited a truly rocking experience for those making strides to achieve little health victories just by being part of the fun.”

The Music Run™ Singapore is supported by AIA Singapore (Presenting Sponsor), AirAsia (Official Airlines), Sentosa (Official Venue), Oakley (Official Eyewear), The Cathay (Official Mall Partner), Fitness First (Official Fitness Partner), Seek (Official Sports Lifestyle), W Singapore Sentosa Cove (Official Hotel), POKKA (Official Beverage), MegRhythm (Supporting Partner), 987FM (Official Radio), LUSH 99.5FM (Supporting Radio Station), and JUICE (Official Music Magazine).
