Honey has been used to help normalise digestive balance (by raising levels of good bacteria and suppressing potentially harmful ones in the digestive tract) for many years. The scientific community has long believed honey to be a good source of prebiotics and this is now evidenced with human clinical studies.
But what are prebiotics exactly? Well, they’re the bee’s knees (but not literally!). Prebiotics are natural, non-digestible fibres that ‘feed’ the good bacteria in your gut. This means your tummy can play host to more good bacteria and less of the bad sort! Sounds awesome ya?
